A few days away together, a hotel for that long-awaited city break or a contribution towards the summer holiday: an Inspire TravelCard gives someone something to look forward to. The recipient chooses a trip from Inspire’s selection. You do not need to know the right destination, travel dates or accommodation when giving it. The card contributes towards the booking they decide on later.
Start with this card at travelbyinspire.de. Search for a hotel, flight or flight-and-hotel combination, depending on the available selection. You book and pay through Inspire, even when a familiar airline or hotel group provides the travel itself. The card cannot simply be presented at a hotel reception or used to pay another travel company directly. Review the final price, any booking fees and travel conditions before deciding.
At payment, enter the TravelCard number and its PIN. You can add payment with an accepted bank card or combine several eligible TravelCards. Any leftover credit can be saved for another booking within the card’s validity. Check its expiry date beforehand and keep the details after booking too. The booking confirmation sets out the arrangements for your trip; the gift card itself is not a flight ticket or hotel reservation.

Instructions
- Open the delivered card details or supplied link and have the final 19-digit TravelCard number and four-digit PIN ready.
- Check the balance and expiry at https://www.travelbyinspire.de/check_balance/ using the card number and PIN. Read any additional conditions supplied with your card.
- Go to https://www.travelbyinspire.de and search for the trip, accommodation or flight you want. Review dates, travellers, included items, possible booking fees and cancellation rules.
- During payment with Inspire, enter your TravelCard number and PIN and apply the credit. If booking with an Inspire travel adviser, mention your TravelCard before they complete the booking.
- Add more eligible TravelCards if needed, or pay the remaining amount with an offered bank card. Check the payment breakdown and confirm the booking.
- Keep the booking confirmation and card details. Unspent credit stays on the card until expiry; check it again before making another booking.
Frequently asked questions
No. The TravelCard pays for bookings sold through Inspire. A familiar travel supplier may provide the trip, but payment must go through Inspire. A reservation on a hotel’s or airline’s own website is not covered by that route.
Yes. Inspire accepts several eligible TravelCards for one booking. If their total is insufficient, you can pay the difference with an accepted debit or credit card. Check at payment that every gift card amount and the additional payment are applied correctly.
No. Unspent credit stays on the TravelCard after a booking. You can use it again while there is a balance and the card remains valid. Keep the number and PIN so you can check and spend the remaining amount later.
No, the trip may take place later, but use the credit to book or pay before the card expires. Check the date supplied with your card and shown in Inspire’s balance checker. Do not assume that each booking starts a new validity period.
There can be. Inspire may charge a booking fee for standalone flights, cruises, Eurotunnel or ferry bookings. Some airlines can only be booked as part of a package. Have the total cost and your card’s options checked before making a firm booking.
A TravelCard can pay an outstanding amount on an existing Inspire booking. Have the booking details ready and follow Inspire’s payment process. This does not mean you can retrospectively change a fully paid trip into a gift card payment.
Your booking conditions determine whether a refund is due. Any refund goes back to the original payment methods. Where payment was split, the refund is divided proportionally between the TravelCard and bank card used; the gift card portion does not become cash.
